Covid-19 Infection Control Hand Wash Units
Specially fabricated Covid-19 infection control hand wash units, ideal for hospitals, temporary field hospitals and factories. Designed to fill the gap created by the shortage of stainless steel hand wash basins.
Infection control wash basins are recommended as the first line of defense in the fight against spreading infection and Coronavirus.
These medical hand wash basins have been designed to offer maximum hand washing area whilst remaining easy to manufacture in short lead times. The Coronavirus has quickly depleted the UK's stock of pressed stainless steel washbasins leaving a shortage of hand washing solutions when they are needed the most. These have been designed in conjunction with the contractors and frontline staff building and working in both our permanent hospitals and the temporary Nightingale Field Hospitals being constructed around the country.
Wall mounted and freestanding units are available with the option of a splash back to incorporate soap bottle holders and paper towel dispensers.

One of the most important things you can do to help prevent and control the spread of many illnesses is to thoroughly and regularly wash your hands. Good hand hygiene will reduce the risk of spreading Coronavirus and other viruses like flu, coughs and colds as well as food poisoning and healthcare associated infections.
When do you need to wash your hands?
Your hands will carry lots of germs normally and it has always been advocated to wash hands thoroughly:
- after coughing or sneezing into your hands
- after visiting the toilet
- before handling food
- when visibly dirty
In the current climate it is now advocated to wash your hands thoroughly:
- before leaving home
- when arriving at your destination
- after handling money
- as soon as you return home
- after handling deliveries to your home or premises
Washing your hands more regularly will help to stop coronavirus from spreading.
How to wash your hands properly
It is vitally important to make sure you wash your hands in the proper way. Make sure that you wash both your hands including the tips of your fingers, the palms of your hands and thumbs.
The below steps will help to explain the proper method to wash your hands:
- wet both hands with water
- apply enough soap to cover all surfaces of hands
- rub your hands together palm to palm
- rub your right palm over the back of your left hand with interlaced fingers and repeat with the other hand
- rub your hands palm to palm together with fingers interlaced
- rub the back of your fingers to the opposing palms with your fingers interlocked
- rub your left thumb clasped in your right palm and same for other hand
- rubbing backwards and forwards with clasped fingers of right hand in left palm and same with the other hand
- rinse hands with water
- dry hands thoroughly with a single use paper towel
- use the paper towel to turn off the tap (if a manual tap)
